Education Support Education support is an important step in the interruption of intergenerational poverty. Ensuring that children from vulnerable families are supported through their education journey is an important priority for the Society. Food, Clothing, & Housing SupportThe ongoing provision of basic needs is a challenge to many vulnerable persons. The availability of daily nutritious meals is not guaranteed, neither is the supply of clothing, and safe housing. In this regard the SSVP provides the following:

Adult Skills DevelopmentA key aspect of poverty reduction and a focus of the SSVP is empowerment leading to employment or income generating activities.

Summer School/ Summer Camp
Summer school programs are geared at engaging children in both academic and non academic educational activities during the months of June - August. These programs are carried out by the various conferences Statewide and vary in length from 1 week to 3 weeks. Efforts are made to provide nutritious meals and snacks to support their healthy growth. To date one summer camp was held targeting vulnerable children. They were exposed to drama, dance, story telling and other enjoyable and educational activities.

Bishop Darius Granny Scheme – Elderly SupportCare for some elderly is a challenge especially those who are widowed, have lost children, are childless, being neglected by family members or lack consistent financial resources. The SSVP through the Bishop Vincent Darius Granny Scheme, provides monthly financial support to vulnerable seniors to assist in meeting their daily living expenditures.
