Education Support

Adult Skills Development

Education support is an important step in the interruption of intergenerational poverty. Ensuring that children from vulnerable families are supported through their education journey is an important priority for the Society. Consequently the SSVP has engaged in support initiatives including:
  •  The provision of hot lunches for students at the primary school level
  • Th provision of uniform, books and transportation support
  • After School support for homework and school projects
  • Summer School program

Food, Clothing and Housing Support

The ongoing provision of basic needs is a challenge to many vulnerable persons. The availability of daily nutritious meals is not guaranteed, neither is the supply of clothing,  and safe housing. In this regard the SSVP provides the following:
  • Food baskets to families
  • Soup Kitchens
  • Distribution of clothes received from donors
  • Construction and renovation of houses.
These are ongoing needs for which support will be appreciated.
A key aspect of poverty reduction and a focus of the SSVP is  empowerment leading to employment or income generating activities.
The SSVP has engaged in many support initiatives including:
  • Baking class for females
  • Sewing Classes
  • Agricultural projects

Medical Support

Medical care is a challenge for the vulnerable especially if it includes obtaining specialised care. In this regard the SSVP supports persons in accessing needed medication and other medical services when it can be afforded.

Spiritual Support

SSVP believes that we serve Jesus Christ through service to those in need. Every action of charity brings us closer to God and bears  witness to God's love. To the recipients, our acts of kindness is testament to the hand of God in their lives and thus can bring them closer to God.
